    Erase Acne Scars Forever

Acne Treatment Center in Orange County

Patients of all ages can benefit from treatment at the premier acne treatment center in Orange County, CA. Qazi Cosmetic Clinic offers PDO threading, laser treatment, chemical peels, and radiofrequency microneedling to fade old acne scars.

Acne scars occur when active acne damages the skin. As the skin heals, the body may produce either too much or too little collagen, resulting in depressed atrophic scars or raised hypertrophic scars. Acne scar treatments work by resurfacing the skin in order to prompt the body to heal the damage and produce more collagen.

Qazi Cosmetic Clinic’s acne treatment center is highly experienced at treating boxcar, rolling, ice pick, and hypertrophic scars.

Acne Treatment Center – Frequently Asked Questions

Atrophic acne scars look like depressions in the skin. Ice pick scars are deep and narrow. Boxcar scars have sharp edges and are more shallow. Rolling scars are shallow and wide with rounded edges. Acne scars can also look like dark spots on the skin or raised bumps.

Hypertrophic scars result from the body creating too much collagen as the active acne heals. Hypertrophic scars are raised from the rest of the skin. Atrophic scars occur when the body does not produce enough collagen, so they look like depressions in the skin.

The team at Qazi Cosmetic Clinic recommends laser treatment, sugar threading, chemical peels, subcision, and RF microneedling for atrophic acne scars. Because atrophic scars are caused by a lack of collagen, the best treatments for them are procedures that promote increased collagen production.

The best way to treat hypertrophic scars is to resurface the skin. This can be done with RF microneedling or laser treatment. Resurfacing occurs when the skin is strategically and safely damaged, which allows it to heal the cosmetic flaws. Corticosteroid injections can also be used to treat hypertrophic scars because it breaks down the bonds in the scars.

A PDO thread lift, also called sugar threading, is a procedure where skin-safe sugar threads are inserted under the skin. This procedure can also be used to correct skin sagging and wrinkles. These threads also increase the body’s collagen production, so they are frequently used at the acne treatment center to reverse atrophic scars.

Laser procedures at the acne treatment center are best for patients with light to medium skin tones. Not all types of lasers are safe on darker skin. Qazi Cosmetic Clinic now offers Pico laser treatments for patients who want laser treatment for their acne scars.

Some at-home acne treatments can be effective on certain types of acne. An acne treatment product must contain lactic acids, salicylic acids, and alpha hydroxy acids to be effective for reducing acne. Topical retinoids also work on certain types of acne scars. If at-home procedures are ineffective at reducing active acne and acne scars, it is recommended that patients schedule an in-office procedure.

Some acne scars will heal on their own after 3 to 6 months. Only shallow acne scars can heal on their own without additional treatment. Severe depressed or raised scars will require an office treatment to make them go away.

Dr. Qazi recommends that patients prevent acne scars by preventing acne in the first place. The best way to prevent acne is to limit sun exposure, use gentle skin cleansers, and maintain a healthy skincare routine. If acne does develop, it is important to avoid touching, scratching, or popping it. Scarring only occurs when the skin is damaged during a breakout.

It depends on the type of acne scar and the patient’s skin type. To learn which treatment is the best, everyone with acne scars should schedule a consultation at Qazi Cosmetic Clinic.
