Why Are Patients Calling About Genital Bleaching?

Recently, we have noticed an uptick in calls and text messages regarding genital bleaching. At first, we thought that prospective patients were inquiring about wanting to have “the carpet match the drapes” –– in other words, bleaching their pubic hair to match the hair on their heads.

But that is not the case. This outreach was about genital lightening options for their skin.

They wanted to know about how to bleach your private area, including your penis, your anus, for vaginal bleaching, and under your arms.

When we looked into these requests in more detail, it turns out that many people in the Newport Beach, California area near Qazi Cosmetic Center have turned to dangerous creams from the drugstore. That’s why this article explains that we have safe, prescription strength creams for these particular areas.

What Is Penile Lightening?

Many men are not satisfied with the color of their sex organs compared to the skin on other parts of their bodies. In fact, in Bangkok, Thailand, starting in 2018, approximately 100 men per month paid $650 for five sessions at a hospital to have laser-whitening treatments. These men, many of which were from the LGBTQ community, were between the ages of 22 and 55.

Rather than go to a hospital, Dr. Nadir Qazi recommends a safe, effective, in-home treatment with Cyspera Cream, which is the first proven pigment fighting product in its class.

This unique, intensive pigment corrector (first known as Cysteamine) is actually the first and only topical cream that contains a patented ingredient, Cysteamine Hydrochloride (HCI), which has been formulated and clinically proven to diminish the appearance of stubborn skin discoloration, which specifically has been more difficult to lighten.

Do You Provide Treatments for Vaginal Bleaching?

Female patients are also asking about genital lightening or intimate area lightening, which entails using a specialized treatment to lighten the labia, in the perineum, or general bikini area, focusing mainly on the vulva.

Of course, like a man’s genitals, this is an extremely sensitive area, so great care should be taken if you are considering this treatment. It would be wise to first consult with a doctor who has experience in genital bleaching.

As with penile lightening, a topical cream with HCI can effectively do the job of lightening the desired skin. However, other treatments are also available (more on that below).

Some actresses, especially those in the porn industry, or nudists, may request to have their vaginas lightened or colored brighter. Others may think that this treatment may make them look younger.

But please be aware that the darker the original skin, the lightening results may only be temporary. Furthermore, once you stop using the creams or getting other treatments, the darker color will return to your skin down there.

When you think you want to find out how to bleach your private area, and you know that this is so delicate that it can be potentially problematic, it’s advisable to consult with Dr. Qazi before taking the next step.

Note: Lightening a woman’s genitalia is not to be confused with vagazzle (or vagazzle), which is a term for “glitter pubes” or genital decoration, where crystal ornaments are applied to your shaved pubic area.

Does Qazi Clinic Offer Intergluteal Cleft Lightening?

The intergluteal cleft, also known by a number of synonyms, including anus, anus slice, butt crack, natal cleft, and cluneal cleft, is the groove between your buttocks.

Both male and female patients are requesting a treatment for anal bleaching, or lightening the color of the skin around your anus, which was mentioned in the comedy movie, “Bridesmaids”. This is a cosmetic treatment to achieve a more uniform color of your anus compared to your surrounding skin on your gluteus maximus.

Some of these treatments can be performed in an office because of difficulty reaching this area, though you can also use a product like Cyspera Cream, or other gels and at-home lotions.

    How Effective Is Underarm Lightening?

The skin under your arms is most often darker than your chest and inner arms, which is why some people wish to lighten this skin. These patients tell us that they’re embarrassed by their dark underarms, which results in a lack of self-esteem and a general lack of confidence.

This is especially important during the warmer months here in Southern California when people wear sleeveless tops, slip on bathing suits, play various sports, or remove their shirts entirely.

Some factors and causes for darker armpits can include:

    • Deodorants and antiperspirants
    • Shaving your underarms
    • The build-up of dead skin cells
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Dark skin patches (melasma)
    • Melanosis (hyperpigmentation caused by smoking)
    • Tight-fitting clothes
    bleaching genitals

While there are a variety of natural remedies, ranging from squeezing the juice from a grated potato, applying thick slices of cucumbers, lemons, or orange peels for 10 to 15 minutes, none works as well as topical creams like Cyspera that contain Cysteamine Hydrochloride (HCI).

How Often Should I Use Cyspera Cream?

According to the manufacturer’s instructions, for genital bleaching, this product should be:

    • Applied once a day to your penis, vagina, anus, under your arms, as well as to your face, neck and décolleté. You do not need to wash your skin before application; however, if you do want to wash first, please wait for one hour before application.
    • Used in the morning before washing your skin, or in the evening.
    • Spread with a thin layer on the skin. A warming sensation may occur and last up to 30 minutes.
    • Removed after 25 minutes by washing it off with a gentle cleanser, then gently pat the area dry.
    • Applied for three months before you may start to see any improvement of lightening.

Note: Please do not use irritating skincare products like acids or tretinoin immediately after application of Cyspera Cream.

Can Some Lightening Products Harm My Skin?

Unfortunately, yes, they can cause problems when you’re in the process of determining how to bleach your private area, especially vaginal bleaching.

In fact, in 2006, the Food and Drug Administration issued a notice that some over-the-counter skin bleaching products are not all recognized as safe and effective, especially because some can cause a number of adverse health effects.

      These can include:

      • Dermatitis such as inflammation of the skin, blisters, ulcers, redness, hives, swelling, and itching.
      • Mercury poisoning for some bleaching creams manufactured outside of the U.S.
      • Blue-black pigmentation.
      • Steroid acne, with whiteheads, blackheads, small or large red lumps, and acne scars.
      • A kidney disorder caused by damage to the blood vessels in your kidneys, resulting in swelling around your eyes, feet, ankles, as well as fatigue, loss of appetite, and foamy urine.

How Long Does Genital Lightening Last?

If you choose to have genital bleaching done right here in our offices, most of our patients start seeing their results after one session, but it typically takes up to three sessions to attain the skin color you desire.

After three to six months, you may need to re-apply lightening products, such as  Cyspera Cream, at home between office sessions.

Does Cyspera Cream Work on Darker Skin Types, Too?

Yes. It’s ideal for all skin types, all skin tones, and all body areas.

Intimate bleaching may be the only safe and most effective way to lighten your skin, regardless of your age, race, or gender.

By the way, very few companies have tested their products on darker skin types, since outcomes are usually less successful than treating hyperpigmentation on lighter skin tones.

What Treatments For Intimate Area Lightening Are Available?

Qazi Clinic offers special, medical-grade in-office peels with powerful skin lightening medications, similar to those used for Melasma (stubborn dark spots).

Our customized peels penetrate into your dermis (skin) and assist with lightening your skin in very specific, targeted areas to meet your particular goals.

Of course, we can also provide in-office sessions with Cyspera Cream if you prefer to have a medical professional bleach your most intimate skin areas.

Who Is A Good Candidate For This Type of Treatment?

Just about any male or female patient can benefit from one of these treatments to lighten the skin on their:

      • Penis.
      • Vagina.
      • Anus.
      • Underarms.

We recommend an initial consultation with an expert like Dr. Qazi at Qazi Cosmetic Center and Med Spa in Newport Beach, California, to determine if these skin lightening treatments or medical-grade chemical peels are the best option for you.

Will This Genital Lightening Treatment Be Painful?

No, it’s not. For either the application of a topical cream, you will typically not feel any irritation for penile, anal, underarm, or vaginal bleaching.

For a chemical peel, you may feel a tingling sensation during the procedure for just a few minutes, but it is typically very well tolerated. The following day, you may have some discomfort, which we’re told is similar to a minor sunburn.

Are There Any Side Effects or Interactions?

Side effects are rare for topical Cysteamine Hydrochloride (HCI) cream treatments, as well as for chemical peels. However, some temporary reactions when you find out how to bleach your private area may include:

      • Your skin turning too dark or too light.
      • Mild burning, dryness, redness, or stinging.
      • Blistering skin.
      • Thinning of your skin.
      • Your skin’s blood vessels become visible.
      • Scarring.
      • Kidney, liver, or nerve damage.
      • Dermatitis.
      • Acne breakouts.

As for drug interactions, please tell Dr. Qazi what medications you are taking or using prior to beginning any treatment to avoid any possible side effects, especially if you are pregnant, or consult with your pharmacist.

What Are The Results? What If I’m Not Satisfied?

Typically, genital bleaching only takes about 25 minutes, depending on the area being treated. In addition, there is minimal downtime, and discomfort is minimal.

Results typically take about two to three treatments and can last from three to six months for this particular cosmetic treatment.

Because of this, we recommend follow-up visits for intimate skin bleaching to maintain the results you want.

        What is the Cost?

The cost for any non-invasive cosmetic procedure like genital lightening is always dependent on the number of appointments you may need to achieve optimal results.

Of course, all of this will be discussed during your initial consultation with Dr. Qazi.

What Are Aftercare Instructions for Intimate Area Lightening?

In our offices in Newport Beach, California, Dr. Qazi takes the time to meet with every patient to discuss treatment options –– before, during, and especially after a treatment or a procedure.

This is particularly important after a medical-grade chemical peel, where it is typical to notice some swelling, a bit of bruising, soreness, or itchiness.

Please note that any post-treatment issues listed below are common and should resolve themselves in the next few days up to a week or longer. Your final, optimal results will usually be seen about two weeks after your treatment.

After that, we can access whether you will need other treatments for penile bleaching, vaginal bleaching, anal bleaching, or underarm bleaching to achieve your aesthetic goals in our Orange County office.

What to do about bruising and swelling:

If you do experience bruising and swelling in your most delicate and private areas, apply a cool compress or arnica gel.

        Follow-up appointments:

Dr. Qazi will review the results of your skin lightening treatment 2 to 4 weeks after your appointment or your application at home.

What Are Some Testimonials About Intimate Area Bleaching?

Our number one priority is each patient’s satisfaction. We do not yet have any testimonials for this new cosmetic treatment, but we will post them as soon as they are available.

*Results may vary and are not guaranteed.

        Meet Dr. Nadir Qazi

While growing up in Chicago, I struggled for years with severe acne and scarring. Dealing with constant comments about my skin, especially from friends and family, wasn’t easy. That feeling of isolation and defeat hit me hard. Many around me were in the same position, yet there were very limited solutions available. This led me to determine my mission: to tirelessly build a unique medical practice where compassion meets science, providing proper care for every overlooked skin type and tone. At my Center, my team and I offer only clinically proven treatments that I have personally researched. My goal is to help others achieve their dreams, breaking free from the constraints of their physical appearance, and to be the support I needed the most.
