Tightness or soreness can be expected immediately after a neck lift. Other normal symptoms include numbness, tingling, swelling, and bruising. Patients are encouraged to walk as soon as they are able to keep their blood flowing, which will prevent blood clots.
For the first 2 weeks, patients should refrain from strenuous exercise, alcohol, smoking, sun exposure, heavy housework, steam baths, saunas, and hair treatments. It is safe to resume exercise and regular activities 2-3 weeks after surgery.
