Who is a good candidate for lip fillers?
Anyone male or female looking for more shape, volume, and structure in their lips is the ideal candidate.
How long will a lip filler treatment take?
Typically, this procedure will take 30 to 45 minutes and then you can continue your daily activities excluding exercise.
How soon will I see results from my treatment?
Results can be instant but some swelling and bruising may occur within the 48 hour period because of the hyaluronic acid absorbing extra water. This is normal. After a few days you will see your results last typically for 6 to 12 months.
How long will my lip filler results last?
The longevity of any filler treatment depends on the type of filler used, the placement of the filler, and the age of the patient. Fillers typically last 6 to 12 months before your body naturally metabolizes the product.
What if I am not satisfied with my results?
The great thing about the products we use for lip fillers is that they can easily be reduced or erased by an injection of Hyaluronidase, which will break down the filler and can restore your lips to their original state.
Will my lips feel any different?
No, your lips will feel natural to yourself and to anyone when kissing. Best of all, you will not lose any sensation.
Will the procedure be painful?
We strive to make our patients as comfortable as possible; patients will first be numbed with a topical medical grade numbing agent and then when injected with the fillers the formulation includes lidocaine- a local anesthetic. Those allergic to lidocaine will be given another numbing option to reduce any pain.
Should I take any precautions on the day of my treatment?
We recommend that patients do not exercise on the day of treatment. Also, we recommend to not book any important events for at least 3 to 6 days post procedure, as swelling can occur. In addition, blood thinners and medications such as aspirin and plavix can increase bleeding and should be avoided. Please discuss with your doctor if there are any concerns.
Is there anything I should do prior to my appointment?
Patients must avoid alcohol, aspirin, plavix or blood thinners prior to the procedure. Please discuss this with your doctor if there are any concerns. It would also be best if patients have a cleansed face, free of makeup.
Is there anything I should do post treatment?
If swelling occurs, we recommend you use an ice pack. We also advise to not book any important events 3 to 6 days post procedure and to avoid alcohol and certain medications.
Can I get lip fillers if I am pregnant or nursing?
The effects of fillers during pregnancy or nursing have not been studied and so we advise patients in these conditions to avoid this treatment.
